Violin/Cello Concert, Thornton Dale

Lucky Ryedale Festival goers have already heard Bielow in a breath-taking performance of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto. If you missed him then, you catch still him at Thornton Dale, playing solo in Bach and Ysaye and with Adrian Brendel in the Kodaly duo.

Lighthouse Jazz Trio in Pickering

Multi-award-winning jazz pianist Gwilym Simcock’s brilliant trio combine Simcock’s thrilling, melodic compositions with imaginative interpretations of great classics. The trio punch deep into exciting groove-based tunes inspired by Celtic rhythms and an eclectic mix of other influences. Grammy award-winning Tim Garland (reeds) and Simcock are two of the most outstanding composers of our time and regarded as among the very best in the world on their instruments. With Asaf Sirkis playing a custom-built percussion set of frame drums, bass udu, hang drum and more, Lighthouse exude a very special energy and excitement in performance.
