Especially for parents and grandparents – there’s lots for children to see and do at Malton Museum during the 2016 holidays.
 Thursday 28th July 1-3 p.m.  BUILDING BRIDGES
Could you become a Roman Engineer for the afternoon?  – a hands-on workshop, suitable for 7 – 11 year olds,  exploring why Romans were successful in building bridges.
 Thursday 4th August 1-3 p.m.  ALL SHOOK UP!
Could you make butter? – another workshop, suitable for 7 – 11 year olds, learning  how to make your own butter – and finding out what it tastes like.
 Wednesday 10th August 1-3 p.m. SHARING THE SHEEP
Do you know what we can make from sheep’s wool?  Learn many new skills e.g. weaving, spinning, felting etc. and take home your finished article.  Suitable for all ages.
 Wednesday 17th August 1-3 p.m.  TALES FROM THE CASTLE
An interactive story of knights, dragons and princesses.  Get into character by making your own mask, then whizz back to medieval times with our troubadour! Suitable for all ages.
 Wednesday 26th October 1-3 p.m.  HOARDS OF COINS
Can you identify coins? Handle our Roman coins – how long have we used coins? If you’ve found any coins, bring them along to show our expert.  Design your own coin.Suitable for 5 – 11 year olds

There is a token charge for the workshops to cover the cost of materials of £1 per adult and £1 per child
Malton Museum is on Yorkersgate, Malton (opposite the Nat West Bank).  Access is by 3 stone steps from Yorkersgate.
