Walks from Slingsby Pt 2

Photograph by David Critchley

Three more local walks to keep you occupied during this difficult period.
‘They are reproduced in pdf form for you to download. I have not yet had time to walk them all again so there may be the odd gate or stile that has been added or removed, but the rights of way remain the same.
If you do find any route that has been amended, I would appreciate your feedback on [email protected]
Please remember to practice your social distancing when walking and stay safe.
I hope you enjoy your walks.’
Geoff Brooks

These 3 walks can be downloaded here, we will post more in the next few days.

Spring Photography 5 (with a difference)

Why is four o’clock in the morning like a pig’s tail?

…because it’s twirly.

Spring Photography 4

More photographs of spring to cheer up residents during the current lockdown. Keep exercising and stay safe.

Walks from Slingsby.

I am very aware that walking the same routes day after day during lock-down can be tedious and some residents may not be aware of all the footpaths and bridleways around the area. I have therefore refreshed 11 of the 12 walks from a book of ‘Walks from Slingsby’ that was published in the early 2000’s that I hope will give you some new ideas for your exercise. They are reproduced in pdf form for you to download. I have not yet had time to walk them all again so there may be the odd gate or stile that has been added or removed, but the rights of way remain the same.

Easter Sunday Morning 2020

This picture shows children decorating the cross last year.

On Easter Sunday morning we are planning to decorate the cross outside Chapel with flowers as a reminder of the hope that the resurrection of Christ gives us and also as a sign of hope that these difficult days because of the coronavirus pandemic will come to an end and better days are ahead.

There will be a bucket of flowers near the cross or alternatively bring your own, so if you are on your daily exercise and are anywhere near the chapel please do add to the decoration with a flower or two.

Please keep to Government guidelines, keep 2 metres away from others.
