Saturday 8 August, 9am to 3pm, Malton Market Place.

Following the latest government advice the food markets will take place in the open air with all the stalls spaced out to aid social distancing.

As space is limited there will be fewer stalls than usual and for the time being there will not be any street food stalls.

There will be a single entrance into the market area and at busy times you may be asked to queue before entering the market.

There will be hand sanitiser stations for you to use and wherever possible the traders will accept contactless payments.

Free parking for 2 hours More here: https://www.visitmalton.com/food-market-yorkshire

Free turf available at the Sports Club – URGENT

Thanks to the generosity of the Parish Council and the Sports Club we have been able to complete the fencing and the gate and to create and turf over a ramp connecting the two areas. Geoff Bishop has been an absolute stalwart and also very economical with the turf! This means we have quite a bit left over and we want to ensure this is used as soon as possible. We would like to invite anyone who needs turf to help themselves to it over the next couple of days before it dries out. The spare turf is on a pallet on the hard standing and has been watered regularly to keep it as damp as possible.
If you would like to give us a donation towards the ongoing Play Area costs and resources, that would be very welcome but not necessary. Contributions can be given to Geoff Bishop (Church Cottage, Church Lane) or Kate Giles (1 Prospect Cottage, The Green).

Play Area Reopened – Welcome and Guidance

We have reopened the Play Area this week in accordance with Government guidelines and following a risk assessment and safety check. We have also completed the fencing and creation and turfing of a new ramp between the two areas of grass. Please observe the following guidelines [which also appear on a sign on the gate] and take care as we let the ramp and turf settle down over the coming weeks.

Guidance for Families using the Play Area

This play area is regularly checked for health and safety, wear and tear but it is not disinfected or sanitised.

Families using the Play Area do so at their own risk and are asked to observe the following guidance:

1.  This is shared equipment. Please be considerate of others.

2.  Encourage everyone in your family to practice good hygiene, washing hands before and after visiting the Play Area.

3.  Bring your own hand sanitiser and use it regularly, before and after using the equipment.

4.  Encourage children NOT to touch their faces.

5.  Observe social distancing as much as possible. Current guidance recommends at least 1m unless children are from the same household. Some equipment can only be used by one child at a time, so please be patient and observe social distancing if you have to wait.

6.  If you are wearing masks or disposable PPE please dispose of your own litter. Do not leave litter behind.
