3 June – Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS IN SLINGSBY

 Sunday, 3 June 2012

The day will start with an open-air Songs of Praise service at 10:30 am on The Green, weather permitting, or in the Church if wet.

At 2pm there will be a procession of vintage tractors around the village, which will start inRailway Street,  tour the Village and then finish at the Grapes (at present closed).

Celebrations start from 3pm on the Sports Field including:

Organised games and races throughout the afternoon (children’s races/wellie throwing/wheelbarrow race/wife carrying race/tug of war and games of rounders) etc.

A Hog Roast at 4pm.

Please don’t forget to wear your decorated crown!

All residents need to remember to bring their invitation together with plate/cutlery/a sweet for shared table and seating.

Non-residents/ visitors are very welcome to join the occasion but must provide own food.

Sports Club Bar Open.
