Malton Museum lecture 19th April 2017

Friends of Malton Museum lecture on Wednesday 19th April 2017 at 7.30 pm in the Library, East Wing, Malton School, Middlecave Road, Malton

Mark Sissons (archivist of the North York Moors Railway) will give a talk called “INDUSTRY AND THE WHITBY & PICKERING RAILWAY.

Admission is free to Friends, others are welcome at a charge of £3.

The Friends say:-

“The route of the Whitby & Pickering Railway is today seen as intensely rural. In the 19th century the Railway provided private railway sidings to serve many local industries. This talk looks at these local industries, from mines and quarries to blast furnaces, that sprang up along the route of the Railway.”
