North Yorkshire Music Therapy outdoor concert picnic at The Yorkshire Arboretum, Castle Howard on Sunday 28th June 2015 from 3p.m. to 6 p.m.

Slingsby School children will be performing at this afternoon of music and outdoor activities, held in aid of North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre, in association with Ryedale Special Families.

Just dip in and out during your visit to enjoy live music from groups of young performers.

Why not bring a picnic?

There is no charge, but normal Arboretum entry fees apply.

North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre is based in Malton. This week is National Music Therapy Week, and the Centre has a programme of events.

Organ Crawl with Philip Moore -Friday 26th June 2015

An “Organ Crawl” with Philip Moore at Hovingham, Slingsby and Barton le Street on Friday 26th June 2015 from 6.20 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Philip Moore is kindly repeating his popular short organ recitals. He was for 25 years the organist and director of the choir at York Minster.

The organ crawl will start at 6.20 p.m. at Hovingham church  for 20 minutes, then 7 p.m. at Slingsby Church for 20 minutes, and finally 7.40 p.m. at Barton le Street church for 20 minutes.

There is no charge, but donations at each church will be appreciated.

At 8 p.m. there will be a light supper in Barton village hall at £5 per head, including a glass of wine. Please let Sue Sutermeister know on 01653 628313 if you would like supper.

All villagers are invited to come and see our school. The Head Teacher, Mrs Georgie Metcalfe, says:-

“Why not come along to the school, meet the teachers, children and Head and find out what’s going on?

What do children study these days? What do KS1 and KS2 mean? Do the children enjoy school, and if so why?

Refreshments will be served.

Please come along, find out and support us!”

Malton Festival of Cycling Sunday 21st June 2015

Malton Festival of Cycling on Sunday 21st June 2015 from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

The second Festival hopes to repeat the success of last year.

Children’s Go-Ride racing from 10 a.m. to noon – just turn up in the town centre at 9.30 a.m. and the races will be organised according to the number of riders.

From noon there will be races from youth to national classes, the last race starting at 5.30 p.m.

There will be music, food and drink also.

Free dog microchipping at BATA Norton 18th June 2015

Dog microchipping at BATA Country Store, Norton Road, Norton, Malton on Thursday 18th June 2015 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dogs Trust is offering this free service around the country.

There is no need to book.
