A message from Friends of Slingsby School: [Entry deadline Monday 26th April]
It was over a year ago that we began our plans for the 2020 Annual Scarecrow Trail which runs in conjunction with the Slingsby Village May Day Maypole Celebrations which as we know, was unable to take place. One year on and we are in a much better place however we don’t yet know what will be possible come the May Day Bank holiday long weekend of Saturday 1st May through to Monday 3rd May. We have historically received amazing entries for the FOSS Scarecrow Competition demonstrating how well supported this event has been which is why we don’t want to let this event simply pass us by. Therefore we are asking for Scarecrow Competition entries at this time, with plans for the competition to take place virtually or at best, placed on display in the village to be held as a School and Village only event. Further details and examples of entries from previous years are in the attached flyer. Please keep an eye on the FOSS Facebook page and the School newsletter for further updates closer to the date.
