Cafe closure at Yorkshire Arboretum

News just in from the Arboretum that the visitor centre and cafe are closed:

“We are sorry to have to tell our members and visitors that the Arboretum Café and Visitor Centre will be closed for two weeks, following confirmation of two positive cases of Covid-19 among our staff, who are now isolating. We wish them well for a speedy recovery.

We have taken advice from Public Health England, who have advised that we have had robust Covid security precautions in place in the Cafe and Visitor Centre, with no ‘close contact’ being made between staff and customers, ensuring low risk of transmission. We have also been informed that the NHS Test and Trace service do not need to contact our café customers. The small number of people identified by NHS Test and Trace within the arboretum community as a ‘close contact’ have already been contacted by them.

The Arboretum will remain open as usual, with our robust Covid security procedures in place at our reception, and once out into the grounds there is no problem at all in avoiding contact with anyone else. The toilets are open and are being cleaned regularly. We very much hope that you will feel free to visit and enjoy the autumn as usual.”
