Ryedale Festival Launch Concert, 15 March Helmsley

Aris Quartet

Helmsley All Saints’ Church, Friday 15 March, 7.30pm

The Ryedale Festival’s Spring Weekend starts in Helmsley, with a concert by the Aris Quartet, playing quartets by Haydn, Janacek and Dvorak. (“one of the most sensational ensembles of the younger generation” – Arte)

At the end of the concert, the full programme brochure for this year’s main summer festival (12-28 July) will be handed out to departing concert-goers.

There will be a pre-concert  and interval bar in Helmsley Town Hall (first floor).

Tickets are still available for this opener, and also for Saturday evening’s jazz concert at the National Centre for Early Music in Walmgate, York. This features BBC New Generation Artist Misha Mullov-Abbado and some of the top names in British jazz.

Full details of these two concerts are on the Festival website http://www.ryedalefestival.com. You can buy tickets online (http://www.ryedalefestival.com/index.php/events-book ) or by calling the Box Office on 01751 475777.

Will the Ryedale Festival be returning to Slingsby this year? Local residents will have to wait till Friday evening to find out if Artistic Director Chris Glyn is bringing world-class music to our village again. If you can’t be at Friday’s launch concert, keep an eye on this village website.
