Ryedale Festival up for major award

Our friends at the Ryedale Festival have been working hard through difficult circumstances this year to bring us the pleasure of music and give much needed employment to musicians and other self-employed people in the creative sector. Now they have received recognition.

The Ryedale Festival has been shortlisted for a major award by the Royal Philharmonic Awards at their forthcoming Awards Ceremony, described by Radio 3 as ‘the Oscars, the BAFTAs and the Grammys all in one’.

Artistic Director Christopher Glynn said: ‘I’m thrilled by this news. Whether we win or not, to be shortlisted is a wonderful recognition of everyone who has worked so hard, and given so generously, to support and develop the Ryedale Festival over many years.’

The Festival has been shortlisted in the national category of Best UK Concert Series. The winners will be announced on Wednesday 18 November.
