SLINGSBY, FRYTON AND SOUTH HOLME ….. THANK YOU!

On behalf of Slingsby, South Holme and Fryton Parish Council, we wanted to say A HUGE THANK YOU to residents. So many people have been in touch, as First Responders and volunteers, enabling us to ensure that everyone within the parish feels they have someone they can contact to ask for help, and no-one feels overwhelmed. Over the past week we have been able to help our ‘shielded’ residents collect prescriptions from Hovingham, Ampleforth and Derwent Surgeries, helped people find and set up telephone and online shopping and deliveries.

As we observe government guidance on taking our daily exercise locally, we have never appreciated our local footpath network more. So PLEASE can we request that local dog-walkers clear up after their pets immediately, especially on CHURCH LANE, the FOOTPATH BETWEEN CASTLE FARM AND FRYTON and the RAILWAY LINE.

These areas are being closely monitored. We need to focus our efforts on social distancing, not dodging dog mess, which can cause blindness and numerous other health problems with which we do not want to burden the NHS. This is our problem, please act responsibly so the whole community can enjoy the outdoors safely.
