Tell Us a Dragon.

•Why not have a go at creating a dragon of your own?
Ryedale Book Festival are a charitable organisation whose objective is to promote a love of reading, storytelling and creative writing in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, and are governed by a Board of Trustees.
They work with schools, libraries and amazing venues to create an annual programme of inspiring literary events for children and book lovers of all ages.

The competition entries will be on display at the Book Festival and the winners for each category will receive book prizes.

Maypole Fundraising Event

•Our next fund-raising event for the Maypole Fund will be a visit by the Ukulele Band, of Thornton-le-Dale, led by John Scoble, in Slingsby village hall on Saturday October 13th 2018 at 7.30 pm. Please put this date in your diary.

All Saints Church Events – September 2018

•Saturday 8th September.
Churchyard Mini-Market at all Saints Church: 10 .30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
With Follow the Dragon’s Trail – a Childrens’ Treasure Hunt and crafts for children.
There will be coffee and refreshments, raffle, cake and produce stall, jewellery crafts etc.
There will be a guided tour of the historic church at 11 a.m. You are also invited to come and hear about the progress to repair the roof and our churchyard project.
This coincides with Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust ‘Ride and Stride’ when the public is invited to visit churches which are encouraged to be open on that day. Visits can be made by bicycle, car or on foot, and can be sponsored by those who want to do it. Slingsby church will be open to all visitors, and residents. Ride your bike or come on foot to the church.

All Saints Church will be joining with the Methodist Church for a celebration and thanksgiving for Harvest.
