Local History event raises over £700 + Video!

The recent local history event which took place 12/13 March raised over £700 for the tower fund. Very many thanks to all those who contributed to it and supported it.

Art Plaque Unveiling

Tuesday, March 22nd. 2011 at 3.0 pm.  The children of Slingsby CP School invite everyone to the unveiling of the art project plaque, depicting life in Slingsby, on Tuesday, March 22nd. 2011 at 3.0 pm and then enjoy refreshments at the French cafe organised by the children. All this takes place at the school on the Green, Slingsby. Everyone is most welcome.

Website’s first week a success

Slingsby’s new website https://www.slingsbyvillage.co.uk received 78 visits on day one and 486 pages were downloaded (we have the technology…) Congratulations have been coming in from many quarters, both locally and further afield. Two messages were received from Australia. Many people have been tweeting (bless them…)

Perhaps most satisfying, was a personal message of congratulations received from Clare Wood, our County Councillor (Hovingham and Sheriff Hutton). Clare enjoyed using the website and believes it will help her work here. That should help us, I guess.

The Website team are not resting on their laurels. We intend to do more to ensure the website appears more prominently in searches, thereby ensuring it reaches a wider audience. Now, what about your news…

STAR PERFORMERS…WE NEED YOU!

Calling all budding singers and dancers aged between 5 and 16…

We are looking to start a fun singing and dancing group for any ability for those within a 10 mile radius of Slingsby.

Our first meeting will be on Thursday, 17 March 2011 from 6-7 pm at Slingsby Village Hall. We plan to hold meetings at the same time each week, as well as on one Saturday a month.

Grow your future with an allotment
