Slingsby Duck Race and Family Fun Day 8th July 2017

Saturday 8th July 2017 from 11 am to 3 pm at Slingsby Sports Field. Annual Duck Race and Family Fun Day. Free admission. (Satnav use YO62 4AW).

The Fun Day starts at 11am with ducks being released at 2pm. There will be activities such as an inflatable slide, bouncy castle, hook a duck, tombola and raffle . Refreshments will be on sale throughout the day.

Ducks cost £1 and can be bought on the day or from any pupil at the School in advance. Prizes will be awarded to the first three ducks to cross the line and there will be a special prize for the duck that comes last..

The annual Slingsby Duck Race is part of a Family Fun Day organised by the Friends of Slingsby School (FOSS) to raise funds for the School. This money will be spent on resourcing a new classroom, educational visits and a Christmas party for the children.

Please come along and join in to raise funds for our School.

A Car Boot Sale this coming Sunday (25th June) on Slingsby’s sportsfield, from 7 am to 2 pm (weather and ground conditions permitting, of course).

Soupa lunch 21st June 2017

Wednesday 21st June at 12 noon. Soupa lunch in Slingsby Methodist Schoolroom.  Come and enjoy soup, sandwiches and a pudding.  All welcome, especially seniors.
No charge, but donations are welcome. No need to book, but an idea of numbers is appreciated.  Contacts are Stephen & Rachel Prest 628277

Slingsby Flower and Garden Weekend 24th-25th June 2017

Saturday 24th June  10.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Flower festival in Church and Chapel. The floral displays in the Church will be created by members of the Malton and District Flower Club and will show village life past and present.  The arrangements in the Chapel will be created by a group of our talented local flower arrangers and will depict Methodism in the Community.

Refreshments are available at the Chapel Schoolroom from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets – £3.00 for both venues – can be bought at the Church.

Sunday 25th June  10.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The Flower Festival continues in Church and Chapel. Tickets £3.00

The Open Gardens programme takes place on Sunday from 1 – 5p.m. when 14 gardens will be open to explore and enjoy.

Ticket for Open Gardens only (with map for access) £4.00

Joint ticket for Open Gardens and Flower Festival £6.00

All tickets can be bought at the Church

Refreshments will be served in the Village Hall from 10.30 a.m on Sunday, where there will also be a display of art by local children.

The weekend will finish on Sunday with a joint Church/Chapel service at 6.30 p.m. in All Saints’ Church, preacher The Bishop of Selby.

Car parking throughout the weekend is available on the Village Sports Field (beside the Church) by kind permission of Slingsby Sports and Social Club.
