A celebration of the Tour de Yorkshire at Helmsley Methodist Church, Ashdale Road, Helmsley from Thursday  30th April to Monday 4th May from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each dayOn Sunday 3rd May there will be a Bike Festival Songs  of Praise at the Church at 10.30 a.m.

Local History Day at Slingsby Village Hall on  25th April 2015 from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friends of Slingsby School – Scarecrow Weekend 2nd to 4th May 2015

The closing date for entering a scarecrow is Friday 24th April. An entry form can be downloaded here.

F.O.S.S. say:-

“You don’t need to be a fantastic artist/sculptor to join in – you just need a little imagination. We don’t have a theme, we don’t mind what they are made of – we just want you to have fun. Who is your favourite movie/tv/sports star? Can you make them from shoe boxes, newspaper and bin liners?

“Over May Day weekend, please support the Friends of Slingsby School by purchasing a trail (£2 each) from Robin Hood Caravan Park, The Grapes Inn or Tony’s Village Shop. The School Reading Rooms will be open from 12noon – 4pm on Saturday 2^nd May and Sunday 3^rd May. to sell trails as well as teas, coffees, juices and light snacks. It promises to be an excellent weekend for villagers and guests alike – it would be great to see you there.”
