Puddles along Mucky Lane | Photograph by Richard Flint

It has been a wet October in Slingsby with plenty of rain falling over the month. This photograph was taken while out for a short walk down Mucky land around mid October. Mucky Lane was, as usual,  living up to its name but it also had some huge puddles of water that were quite difficult to get by in places. It’s never boring down Mucky Lane.

Do you have a great photograph you’d like to share with us?

If you’d like to submit an image for the photo of the month slot, you can send it to [email protected]

PARISH PLAN MEETING FOR ALL RESIDENTS

Monday 27 October, 7pm, Slingsby Village Hall

A meeting is to be held to start the process of updating the Slingsby, Fryton and South Holme Parish Plan of 2010.

All interested individuals and groups, whether business, club, society or church etc, are needed to make this process as inclusive as possible.

Maggie Farey from Rural Action Yorkshire will be there to help steer us through this next stage.

The objectives set out in the 2010 Parish Plan included the establishment of a Village Website and Newsletter. Done! (the team here are proud to say…)

But do you know if other aims were achieved, or how they are progressing? And what would you like to see happening in the village in the coming years?

Please be at the meeting on 27 October at 7pm in the Village Hall to find out more and make your views known.

The full text of the 2010 Parish Plan (in PDF format) can be downloaded from this your village website’s Community page here.
