The seventh Annual General Meeting of the Slingsby Website and Newsletter Group was held on Thursday 23 November. The meeting was exceptionally well-attended by members and residents, who witnessed a changing of the guard, some lively debate and some special thanks.

Bags2School clothes collection on Friday 1st December 2017

Bags2School collection on Friday 1st December 2017 at Slingsby School. Friends of Slingsby School are organising this collection as part of their fundraising for the School.

FoSS ask for unwanted clothes and shoes (tied together or elastic band round shoes, please).

Please put your items in a bin liner and leave them outside the School Reading Room between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Friday.

(If you’ve had a bag posted through your letter box, it can be collected if you leave it outside your house before 4 pm on Thursday)

Christmas Concert on 3rd December 2017 -reminder!

A Christmas Concert in All Saints’ Church Slingsby on Sunday 3rd December 2017 at 3.00 p.m.

Given by Terrington Village Choir. Come and enjoy an afternoon of Christmas songs and traditional carols, followed by tea/coffee and cake.

The proceeds of the concert will go towards the target of £50,000 which the Church has to raise towards the cost of the church roof repairs. Barclays Bank has kindly agreed to give up to £1,000 to match what the concert raises.

Teddy Bear found

We’ve just been told of a teddy bear found on the railway line some days ago. About 9 inches high, with a green coat which is in fact part of the body. Owner may collect from the village shop.
