Slingsby Badminton Club season starts 17th October 2016

Slingsby Badminton Club’s 2016/17 season will start on Monday 17 October 2016. We are a friendly and enthusiastic group of players of varying skill levels and age . The emphasis is on fun. New members are welcome. If you are interested please come along. There is no annual subscription and you only pay for each session you play (£2 per session).

Village Hall, Monday evenings 7:30pm to 9pm (October to Easter).

FoSS Auction of Promises 15th October 2016

Friends of Slingsby School will hold an auction of promises on Saturday 15th October 2016 at 7.30 pm in Slingsby Village Hall.

Tickets cost £5 and include a glass of wine and nibbles. They are available from the School or by ringing 01653 628175.

All proceeds will be given to the School.

 

Slingsby Ladies Group meeting 11th October 2016

Slingsby Ladies Group will meet in the Methodist Chapel schoolroom at 7.15 p.m. on Tuesday 11th October.

There will be a talk by someone from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

Anyone considering joining the Group will be very welcome.

Pudding Party – Friday 14th October 2016

Pudding Party at Slingsby Village Hall on Friday 14th October 2016 starting at 7 p.m

It’s Pudding Time again. This year’s Pudding Party has a 1950s theme.

Tickets cost £6 and include samplings of 6 desserts, as well as tea or coffee.

Please bring your own wine if preferred.

Slingsby School Harvest Festival on Friday 14th October at 2.30 p.m. at All Saints’ Church, Slingsby.

The School invites all who wish to come and join in with the School community at this celebration.

Fish and Chips dates 2016 (starting 11th October)

Malton & Norton Lions Club are once again delivering fish chips and peas to Slingsby on the second Tuesday of the month, starting on Tuesday 11th October. These will be delivered to your door, and the cost is £3.
This service is mainly for the elderly and others who live alone. Contacts are Stephen and Rachel Prest tel 628277 and Trudy Carr 628302.  Do get in touch if you would like to receive them.
