The Local History Group is putting together a book in the same format as Slingsby Then and Now, but on the subject of farming, which has always been an important mainstay of the village.
If anyone has interesting old photos, stories, old records such as bills and milk records to fill in the picture, the compilers of the book would love to see them. Please contact David Thornley on 627210 or [email protected]
Sunday 12th June 2016. A car boot sale will take place on Slingsby’s sports field, from 7 am to 2 pm (weather and ground conditions permitting, of course).

Saturday 16th July 2016 from 11 am to 3 pm at Slingsby Sportsfield. Annual duck race and family fun day. A date for all our diaries..
We are very happy to report that a new 25 year lease has been agreed and signed this month between Slingsby Sports Club and the owners of the sportsfield, Castle Howard Estates.
This finally allows the Club to plan for the future and to apply for grants to improve facilities.
Fuller details will be in the next issue of The Triangle.
Membership of the Sports Club is only £5 per couple per year (£4 for over 60’s couples) and even less for singles. New members are very welcome and membership subscription time is from 1st June.
